I returned to the Witch's Hat Water Tower today because today is the one and only day this year that it is open to the general public. The tower is only open the first Friday after Memorial day during the neighborhood ice cream social at the Pratt School. I arrived shortly after 5:00 pm and to my surprise the line to go up to the observation deck was rather short (this was not the case about an hour later). The steps up to the deck are quite narrow and it gets a little tight when there are people heading down while others are making their way up. Once you make it to the top you are presented with spectacular views of the Prospect Park neighborhood as well as the downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis skylines.

lovely. I like the trees in the foreground, nice contrast with the city skyline.
