Day 80 - Shoreview Towers

Shoreview TowersTonight I was able to get pretty close to the Shoreview Broadcast towers (officially called the Telefarm towers). They are huge, tower one is 1426 feet and tower two is 1438 feet high. About a mile east of these towers you will find the KMSTP-TV tower, which is about 1466 feet high.

The Shoreview towers are owned by Telefarm Inc. which is a company jointly owned by the Twin Cities stations WCCO channel 4, KSTP channel 5, KARE channel 11 and some area radio stations. The towers are used for both analog and digital television broadcasts, plus the transmission of KSTC channel 45 (owned by the same company as KSTP) and WUCW channel 23.

The KMSTP-TV Tower is owned by KMSTP channel 9 and shared with WFTC, KTCA/KTCI, and ten FM radio stations.

    cool shot. And thanks for all the info...when I'm thinking hard at work, I sometimes stare at these towers through my window. :-)
