Day 126 - Slate and Greywacke

Slate and GreywackeThe St. Louis river, in Jay Cooke State Park, runs through bedrock composed of slate and a type of rock known as greywacke. Very rugged in appearance and texture, the jagged pieces of rock protrude above the water line for most of the year.
